I met Jeannie Lin about four years ago as of this coming October. We had both competed in a Miss Snark competition and I loved her entry involving a warrior princess on the way to her wedding and some serious kick-butt action. Since then, Jeannie won the 2009 Golden Heart award and I’ve been so delighted to rediscover Jeannie. She’s a terrific author and mentor and I couldn’t be more tickled that her book, “Butterfly Swords” will be released on the four-year anniversary of when we met – give or take a few days. (I’m SURE the publisher planned it that way. ;D)
Coming up in September, I’ll start a Jeannie Lin season involving give aways, a guest blog with the author, reviews of first her short story, “The Taming of Mei Lin” and then in October, “Butterfly Swords.” In the meanwhile, feast your eyes on this fabulous book trailer:

Wonderful trailer! The book sounds fascinating and the music is perfect.
A warrior princess on her way to her wedding – that does sound intriguing! Love the name, Butterfly Swords, too
I'm thrilled about her book coming out so soon! I've been following her since a few months before she won the Golden Heart and I love seeing how far she's traveled on this publication journey. It makes me happy to see writer friends acheiving their dreams!
I am so stoked about this book! I remember the first time I read the opening sequence I ran around clapping my hands. Giddy.
Yeah, I love the name, Margo and get this, it relates to actual Kung Fu. First time I heard it, I thought it was something Jeannie made up. If you look up "Butterfly Swords" on youtube, you see lots of Kung Fu artists practicing the sword style as well as Jeannie's video. Pretty cool. 🙂
Hi Victoria, a wonderful trailer. The book title is awesome. Just love. Two contrary words brought together as a title.
Thanks Victoria for blogging me! I felt the same way when I read the opening to Mourn Their Courage. I jumped up and down and said, yes! Another Asian historical author.
Dara *hugs* Hello!
Rachel – I'm glad you like the title. I usually have problems with titles. This is the only one that came to me as I was brainstorming the book. I love the hard and soft elements of it too. Very yin/yang, if you think of it.
