And…It’s Monday

It’s Monday and at least the kidlit has swim lessons this morning. I’ll have a few hours to myself. As always, I’ve got more to do than I could possibly handle, but in a perfect world, I’d already have the mortgage check written,  Chapter 2 completed and moved onto Chapter 3. During swim lesson, I could prepare our home for the non-existent housing market. I can dream about so many things, but the truth is, I didn’t do too much dreaming last night. I woke up repeatedly and now that I’ve completed my morning’s journal entry and written several pages of Chapter 2, my eyes are more than happy to close without my help. So I will say many thanks to Janet Johnson for today’s blog question. I was too tired to think of my own.

What do you dream about?

Yea for swim lessons. My daughter is an awesome swimmer and now swims competitively.

I hate those nights when I can't sleep. Get some rest.

I dream of a day when I have a little more time. So I can write for hours at a time and also have some time to relax. But with work and family, it doesn't look like that will happen soon.

  2. Janet Johnson says:

Awww, you're welcome! And thanks for the shout out. ๐Ÿ™‚

At this moment, I'm dreaming of a house that cleans itself.

Goodluck with your to-do list . . . several pages of ch. 2 sounds productive to me!

  3. Victoria Dixon says:

Thanks for popping over, Natalie! Kidlit has extreme light-sensitivity and has thus far gone through her swim lessons with her eyes shut (!!!) because the coaches wouldn't let her wear her goggles. I had it out with them and she'd better come home today with wet goggles! LOL She loves swimming except for the part where it's painful to see what she's supposed to DO.

Sigh. Well, the mortgage is paid with the help of our savings account. I don't know what we'll do next month. Right now, I'm dreaming of a day when writing will pay the bills AND fill my hours. ;D

Janet, good luck with that house issue. If you find a way to train yours, let me know. ;D

I dream of a to-do list that isn't too crazy. I always seem to be behind in everything.

  5. Margo Berendsen says:

Yes I dream of having more time too! I also daydream about my characters a lot and sometimes, if I'm very lucky, I have night dreams of them too with new exciting ideas. But that's very rare.

  6. Victoria Dixon says:

Medeia, more time, more money, more of me to go around (that wasn't made by eating more chocolate!) and just MORE. I'm beginning to suspect more isn't really the answer I need. Perhaps less of the things that really don't matter. That MIGHT not include chocolate.

Margo, I LOVE those times when I wake up with an entire scene or story arc or previously unknown character fully fleshed out. Those are the dreams I cherish – and try to wake up enough to legibly write them down. ;D

  7. Karen Lange says:

I dream often of everyday things with pieces of my past woven throughout. It's rather strange to dream of living in the teeny rental home from our early marriage years with our three adult kids. ๐Ÿ˜›

  8. Victoria Dixon says:

I love it when I dream I'm back in my college choir and we're on tour. I have those dreams once a year and I suspect it's because I still want to be on tour. ;D My favorite one of those dreams was when we were all back in England and our director decided to hoist us into the cathedral's rafters so we could fly around singing like angels. It was hysterical. Sadly, I don't think Cathedrals HAVE rafters. LOL

Hey Victoria! Yeah, I am really bummed the reviews are so bad for Green Lantern. I'm a big DC fan and was looking forward to the movie. DC has messed up most of their superhero movies (except the latest Batmans) while Marvel just keeps hitting them out of the park.

  10. Victoria Dixon says:

Thanks for dropping by and commenting, Alex! We're equal opportunity superhero lovers, though my husband has a soft spot for Marvel. The funny thing is, DC's cartoons rock and Marvel's mostly suck!

  11. Barbara Ann Wright says:

Right now I dream about finding an awesome house and being done with my move. ^_^

  12. Elizabeth Varadan aka Mrs. Seraphina says:

Recently I've been dreaming of music. What I mean is, I hear music in my dreams: arias from operas I love. Go figure!

  13. Rachna Chhabria says:

I dream a lot..sometimes they are random things which feel absurd. Sometimes the dreams are specific and make sense: about people I know.

  14. Victoria Dixon says:

Barbara Ann – I'd offer to sell you my house, which DOES have some awesome personality quirks, but it also comes with some awesome fixup needs. Still, are you looking to live in the Kansas City area? LOL

Elizabeth, I've been known to dream anything from soundtracks (like the ENTIRE soundtrack) to one song over and over. And over. The last one gets pretty irritating and if I can, I'll wake myself up and go watch a bit of music or something to get the song out of my head. I don't mind the soundtrack or show tunes as they usually come with a story line. LOL I'm not above creating a new story to the soundtrack from Henry V. ;D I've woken up with my entire concert choir in my head and been moved to tears by the beauty of the music and how much I miss singing with them.

  15. Donna Hole says:

I dream of a few moments alone in my house – and the insentive to use those moments to further my publishing aspirations.

Where's the magic lantern when you need it.

    ….dhole

  16. Victoria Dixon says:

Oh, do I ever know what you mean, Donna! And if you find the magic lamp, let me know after you've made your three wishes, kay? ๐Ÿ˜€
