News, Links and More

In upcoming release news, check out Jeannie Lin’s new book cover for The Dragon and the Pearl. I really look forward to reading it. Amazon says it’s due for release on September 20th.

Last year I reviewed “Escaping the Tiger” by Laura Manivong. Due to the poor economy, the book hasn’t sold as well as I expected. If you’re interested in ordering a hardback copy for $3.99, check out this link. It’s a marvelous read and you won’t be sorry.

So what wondrous things are you reading right now?

Wow, this is a gorgeous cover. I thought Lin's for Butterfly Swords was stunning, but this is even more so. I'll have to check it out.

  2. Jai Joshi says:

I agree with Lisa, that is a gorgeous book cover.

As for what I'm reading right now, I finally got my hands on the Celestine Prophecy (after YEARS of meaning to buy it) and will be reading that when I get some time.

  3. Aron White says:

Great cover 🙂 Looking foward to reading it later this year.

  4. Natalie Aguirre says:

Gorgeous cover. I'm reading The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong. It's a paranormal YA that handles adoption about the most realistically I've seen so far.

  5. Walt Mussell says:

Fantastic cover. 🙂 Can't wait to see what's inside.

  6. Donna Hole says:

I'm critiquing a writer friends first eight chapters of her latest obsession. It is interesting . .

    ……..dhole

Yeah, this one somehow seems more active than Butterfly Swords, though that book had Aili holding SWORDS. (It's hard to get more active than that.) There's also more obvious romance in this cover. It's just lush. Thanks for the comment, Lisa!

Jai, I haven't heard of that book, but I love the title and will go check it out now. Thanks for the tip!

You and me both, Aron & Walt! ;D

Thanks for the book tip, Natalie. I'll go check that out now, too. I just read and critiqued two books about orphans and (therefore) indirectly about adoption. The stories don't focus on that subject, but the mindset of orphans is definitely dealt with. There's a drawing for those books at http://historicalnovel.blogspot.com.

  8. Rachna Chhabria says:

    The book cover is gorgeous.
I am reading a novel 'Lessons in Forgetting'.

  9. Victoria Dixon says:

Oh dear, Donna. I hope that's not "interesting" in the way the Chinese curse people. LOL Don't forget to treat yourself, too.

Thanks, Rachna! There's another title I'll have to look up. Woo hoo!

  10. Elliot Grace says:

…just finished up Sandford's "Storm Prey." Taking a breather to do a little marketing, then will be checking the crinkled up "must read" list:)
Victoria, thanks for your supportive comments on Donna's blog regarding my book review and the foster work that my wife and I participate in. And congrats on your adoption. What a heartfelt gesture on your part:)

Thanks for dropping by, Elliot! God bless.
